iara Egan Calitri, Clinical Research Coordinator

Ciara Egan Calitri was raised in Berlin, New Jersey. She attended Fordham University and, in 2004, earned her Bachelor's of Science in Computer Science and Business Administration. After graduating, she worked with the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in newborn pediatric research. Ciara married Michael Calitri on July 22, 2006 and relocated to Nashville, Tennessee. She worked in thoracic clinical trials research at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center. Ciara lives with her husband in Tampa, Florida and she works for the immunotherapy program at Moffitt Cancer Center. Ciara is excited to be volunteering with Luila Village Ministries and is looking forward to the adventure of missionary work in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Afric
Katherine Smith, Research Assistant

Katherine received her BS at the University of Tennessee , Knoxville , in 2006, with a double major in Biochemistry and French Language and Literature, cum laude. She is currently in Mérida , Venezuela studying Spanish on a grant from the Rotary Foundation International. She has worked previously in fund raising for Students For Kenya, at Vanderbilt University , in Lille , France as an English Teacher, and at
Vanderbilt University as a research assistant in Neuropsycopharmacology. In the coming years she will be working in various sectors of Global Public Health to help underserved and underrepresented populations gain adequate access to health care,
which is every human being's birthright.
